What I have achieved so far! At the end of 2015, I have set myself a couple of achievements for the year 2016. This is a look back after the first quarter has gone with the wind.
Travel every month
I make this happen by working less. I reduced to 90 % and use the “excess” time for leisure.
It has only been a third of the year, but so far I kept my plan to travel every month.
So far I have been to Hamburg to visit friends. It was the thirtieth birthday and has been awesome. Looking forward to seeing him and his girlfriend at my thirtieth in April.
In February, I have been to Malta to visit another friend. She lived there for two months and we ticked off all the places she hadn’t visited since then, together.
March’s vacation I was skiing in Italy. We were 21 people spread over three flats. It’s been six good days of skiing and sitting around a table trying to reduce the drinking reservoir we brought from back home.
Plans for the coming months are Thessaloniki in Greece, Mountain Biking over the Alps from Munich to Lake Garda and Downhill Biking in Austria in June.
Things that I don’t want to do any more
Talk too much about others without them being present. Works fine so far.
Ban Youtube from my bed. Worked well for the first two weeks of this year. Maybe I can improve here a little bit, again!
Things that I want to do more
Address things that bother me, immediately. Works fine so far.
Go for walks and bike rides more often. I go for walks in my lunch break if the weather allows. I ride my bike to work every day. But I want to step up Mountain Biking a little more. Also because of the 400 km in three days in May.
Saving more money. I’m on a good way. I’m trying to find a balance between the two – saving and getting rid of debts. But since my debts are interest-free, mehhhh!
Invest in something
I have to put some more thought into that.
Being more productive at work and at home
Time is limited, but I think I’m getting better at managing my time. It always could be more. I don’t really understand how people can be bored. I always have shit to do. My flatmate inspired me of getting up earlier in order to be more productive in the morning. I’m down from 7:30 to 6:50, alarm wise. My body is already ahead of it by waking up at 6:30.
Do something completely new every month
Didn’t really think of it, yet.
Learn a new skill until mid-year
I wanted to learn how to play the guitar. That’s one of the things I didn’t get around doing yet. But I’m taking an online human physiology class at Duke university. I let that count as an appropriate replacement. Plus, it serves the skills I need for my fitness blog theadvancedi.com.
Stepping up my Spanish to level B2
I found a new tandem partner and I see her twice a week.
I decided not to take classes and meet her instead. I think the practice with her is more valuable than going to class. Again, it is all a matter of time!
I read 32 books last year. I want to, at least, read as many this year. So far, I read fiveish. I’m not going to fulfill this goal.
I planned to write 5000 words a week. It turned out to be very ambitious. I, so far made it to maybe, 1000 to 1500 a week. Will improve on that as well.
Ambitiously working on my Blog “theadvancedi.com”. I made it focus more on sports and nutrition now. All the topics that didn’t fit moved to this blog. Also, Instagram, Twitter and a Facebook page are live now.
What are your goals for 2016? And how far did you come yet?
