Mira Beach
Distance day: 40 km
Total distance: 52 km
The first night in the tent was wonderful. Since I hadn’t slept much at James’ party the night before, the waves with their lullaby let me fall into a deep sleep shortly after 9pm.

After comfortably packing and having breakfast, I made my way along the beach to the next village. On Google Maps and Komoot it was not easy to see if you could walk along the sea or through the nearby forest or not

In the sand, about 50m from the sea, behind the dunes, was to come. Due to the soft sand, each step was twice as strenuous as on solid ground. After a while of futile attempts I fought my way into the forest. Unfortunately, all the paths here were also very sandy. Although better than before, but in the long run a fach too hard.

On the next paved road, I went back to the beach to have lunch there. By the break and the small strengthening I created new strength to try it directly at the beach further. After a while I realized that the sand, about 5 m away from the water, has the optimal strength (or moisture) to get ahead quickly. So I walked 12 km further to the next beach village.
As a reward there was Galão (coffee with milk) and something sweet. Since it started to rain a little bit, I walked further along a road

But it didn’t really start to rain. The cloud cover was nevertheless a blessing that protected me from even more sweating. Only the warm temperatures manage that my T-shirt is permanently wet

On the endless road (about 20 km without bend) I met a few cyclists and an older German couple. We had a talkative exchange about our wanderlust.
In Praia da Mira there were two campsites at the lake, but I decided to go back to wild camping at the sea. It turned out to be a good idea.
