Day 8 – Viloria de Rioja
35 km (231 km) 7h
Today everything went great. I bought some hiking socks yesterday. I think they help a little against slight pain in the calves and shins
I passed a golf course today with a new development not yet 10 years old. Almost all the houses were for sale. I’m sure they can be had for cheap. I wonder who did the math wrong. There is nothing exciting around here
Since yesterday already at 21 o’clock the eyes went to, I am this morning already at quarter before seven los getigert. Thus there was to see also for the first time a sunrise over cornfields and vineyards. Another first time was to put headphones in my ears. I listened to a program of Dieter Nuhr. Quintessence: laughing helps when running.
Markus and I were totally lucky today that the hostel owner opened for us in Viloria de Rioja, although it was actually still closed. She later cooked us an excellent meal and told us a bit of her story about how she came to the hostel. Good to know some Spanish. Otherwise the contact would have been really difficult
