Day 15 – León
18,6 (448,4) 4h
As announced, today was a short day. Our feet hurt the whole way today. But now it is done. Mom distracted me a bit on the track and I consulted with my personal osteopaths (same line). Advised is break, massages, stretching, a relaxation cream and IBUS. So tomorrow no kilometers, but there is good food and coffee. My hotel is directly at the cathedral. So the sightseeing is certainly not so much on the feet. This morning it showed -3° when we started. Cold it did not feel, to be honest. Today on arrival I slept a bit. After that I went out to look where there is something to eat. I went to the Italian restaurant and ordered pasta and a salad. While walking through the city I noticed something strange, people are looking at me funny. But why? Because I wear barefoot flip flops? But it is 10°.
I find that always enthusiasm, how stretchy the term vegetarian is. I told the lady yesterday restaurant that I’m vegetarian and also don’t eat fish, because that’s always the next question that comes when you say you’re vegetarian. I thought she understood me, I ordered the salad and some pasta with tomato sauce. But thought wrong, the salad came with tuna. I guess that once the fish is canned, it’s no longer fish
But other than that, it doesn’t seem to be widespread among young people to know what the difference is between being vegetarian or vegan. Jaime’s sister – my colleague at work – could not tell the difference between the two terms, nor define exactly what vegetarian is. Actually, she didn’t know anything starting with the term vegan.
