Day 24 – Palas de Rei
30 km (694.5) 6h
You clearly notice to have passed the 100 km mark. It is exactly this 100 that you need to get the award in Santiago. Yesterday I already overtook some bigger groups and today it just went on like this. Many people run also only with daypack and let their luggage drive to the next hostel. Actually, I wanted to run a little further today to avoid a big hostel in the “city”. But it would have made technically no sense to run further. The next with security open hostel would have been 15 km away
Since is now only 68 km to Santiago, I can hide the well in the next two days.
By the many Camino tourists one comes no longer so beautifully quietly through the day. Possibly I run tomorrow a little earlier to avoid the “hordes”
For anyone who is also considering walking one of the Caminos, I recommend starting at least 200 km before Santiago. And for the head (complete detachment from everyday life), I would recommend at least ten days.
