In the evening I eat toast with Nutella, should I change this? I neither want to gain nor lose weight, so the calories of my current diet seem to fit, but from a health perspective this isn't beneficial, right? What kind of snack/meal would you recomment eating late in the day if I don't want to really cook a complete meal myself.

Hi Lars, this is a tough question! In general, I'm opposed to Toast and Nutella. I know it is such a tasty snack. In moderation, it shouldn't be of any concern to eat it from time to time. Both toast and Nutella are high in short chains of carbohydrates, which means that the let your blood insulin level rise quickly. Is it your dinner or just a snack late at night after you already had proper dinner? For a snack, I would recommend fruits and vegetables. You could get a couple of carrots and dip them in some yogurt mixed with some spices like parsley and ground red peppers. Apples and Bananas are perfect for a snack as well. They may be high in sugar, but at the same time come with a high content of fiber, minerals and vitamins. If it is dinner, replace the toast with whole-grain bread. But some cheese and some tomatoes or cucumber it to make it a fresher.
